WORKSHOPS AT THE ROSETTE
PERFORMING 101 with Evan Taucher
Playing music for other people is one of the most special and rewarding things we can do as musicians. But for so many of us, performing for an audience can seem daunting and unreachable, which can keep us from even trying. In this class, we will demystify the art of performing and develop comfort with this incredible skill so that we can feel confident sharing our music with others.
The class will meet 6:30 – 7:30pm at the Rosette.
Session 1: Wednesday, February 1st
Session 2: Wednesday, February 15th
Session 3: Wednesday, February 22nd
Session 4: Wednesday, March 15th
Session 5: Wednesday, March 22nd
Session 6: Wednesday, March 29th
Session 7: Wednesday, April 12th
Session 8: Wednesday, May 3rd
In our eight sessions together, we will:
- Engage in manageable performance experiences to build our confidence on stage
- Develop practice habits that help us prepare for performances
- Build a healthy mindset and strategy for executing a successful performance
Participants will have ample opportunities to share their music and their experiences performing in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment, including three open mic style performances in addition to the above course schedule where you will be able to directly apply your work in this class to real performances.
We hope to see you there!
