The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog
Available only until February 18
Alfred Hitchcock’s silent masterpiece The Lodger is a gripping tale of a mysterious stranger, a series of murders, and a beautiful show girl.
Featuring a lush score by ACG Artistic Director Joe Williams exquisitely performed by Grammy-nominated cellist Bion Tsang and the Texas Guitar Quartet.
This 1927 classic is Hitchcock’s third film, but it’s widely-regarded as the first to introduce his distinct artistic vision. The master of suspense showcases his brilliant cinematography, storytelling and humor with a story based on Jack the Ripper. Fun fact: The Lodger also features the first of Hitchcock’s trademark cameos. See if you can spot him!
This film score was commissioned by Austin Classical Guitar and originally presented in 2015 in collaboration with the Alamo Drafthouse.
