Phil Swasey

Phil Swasey served as the Director of Guitar at Bedichek Middle School in the Austin Independent School District from 2011-23. Having developed outstanding programs and district events for over a decade, Phil served as the district content lead for middle school guitar and mariachi, and was named the campus Teacher of the Year in 2016. In the classroom, he was motivated by finding creative and empowering strategies to remove common obstacles in the way of student success. 

Now excited to be working full-time with ACG Education, Phil is focusing on curriculum design, teacher training, and exploring new connections and potential partnerships. He has earned degrees from the University of Florida (2008, M.M.) and University of Central Florida (2005, B.A.).
