Meeting Special Needs
Eliminating barriers. Music for all.
ACG is committed to meeting the needs of everyone we serve. This commitment is exemplified in our partnership with Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, where students are able to utilize a braille-adapted version of our classroom curriculum in their guitar classes. We have also begun work to create a free online repository of braille music scores and accompanying audio guides, a groundbreaking project that will ensure aspiring classical guitarists with visual impairments can access – from anywhere in the world – a comprehensive resource for lifelong learning on the classical guitar.
Our Inclusion Specialist also provides consultations for guitar teachers everywhere looking for adaptive solutions for their students with special needs. Please contact us if you would like to learn more about this free service.
Special support for ACG’s programs serving people who are blind and visually impaired comes from the Rea Charitable Trust, the Mitte Foundation, and Megyn L. Busse, MD, along with many the individual donors who contributed to our 2017 Amplify Austin Campaign.
