Honoring Matt Hinsley’s 30 Years of Leadership

In 1996, Austin Classical Guitar was a small, volunteer-run organization with a $5,000 budget. That same year, Matt Hinsley arrived in Austin and brought to ACG a bold new vision for how music could serve the community.

In the 30 years since, he has built something extraordinary.

Under Matt's leadership, Austin Classical Guitar has become a nationally-recognized model for nonprofit service in the arts — home to world-class concerts, groundbreaking education programs, and community services that change lives every day. From juvenile justice centers to the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, from public school classrooms across the US to orphanages in Nepal and Uganda, ACG’s work has opened doors, lifted voices, and inspired excellence.

We invite you to join us in paying tribute to Matt and all that he has accomplished over the past three decades. You are welcome to write a note to share with him, and if you feel inspired, to make a gift in his honor to help ensure the continued growth and impact of his life’s work.
