Beginning Guitar

No experience is required for this fun introduction to the classical guitar. You’ll be making beautiful music from day one, while mastering the fundamental skills you’ll need to advance in your playing.

Classes will take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 pm for 8 weeks. All classes will take place in the Rosette Lounge.

Session 1: Tuesday, September 26th
Session 2: Tuesday, October 3rd
Session 3: Tuesday, October 10th
Session 4: Tuesday, October 17th
Session 5: Tuesday, October 24th
Session 6: Tuesday, October 31st
Session 7: Tuesday, November 7th
Session 8: Tuesday, November 14th

Intermediate Guitar

This class is the perfect fit for adult students who have taken the Beginning Guitar Class, or who already know the basics of classical guitar, and are eager to learn more in a fun, no-pressure group setting. Students will build new skills, such as reading in 1st and 5th position, playing scales and arpeggios, learning how to practice effectively, performing solo and ensemble music, and more! 

Classes will take place on Tuesday evenings from 7:15-8:15pm for 8 weeks. All classes will take place in the Rosette Lounge.

Session 3: Tuesday, October 10th
Session 4: Tuesday, October 17th
Session 5: Tuesday, October 24th
Session 6: Tuesday, October 31st
Session 7: Tuesday, November 7th
Session 8: Tuesday, November 14th

Advanced Guitar

For adult students who have completed the Intermediate Class, or have already mastered the material it covers, and are eager to extend their skills and knowledge in a fun, no-pressure group setting. Students will focus primarily on solo pieces from the Classical Guitar standard repertoire, in addition to ensemble music. Students will also continue their work on scales and arpeggios, and expanding their reading into the upper positions of the guitar. 

Classes will take place on either Wednesday or Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:00pm for 8 weeks. All classes will meet in the Rosette Lounge.

Session 3: Wednesday, September 27th
Session 4: Wednesday, October 4th
Session 5: Wednesday, October 18th
Session 6: Wednesday, October 25th
Session 7: Thursday, November 2nd
Session 8: Wednesday, November 15th

What to bring

Participants will need to bring their own nylon-string classical guitar and a footstool. We have a limited number of guitars available to borrow – if you’re interested, please mention it in the “Comments” field when you register below.
