ACG Youth Camerata

The ACG Youth Camerata (ACGYC) is a brand-new ensemble for beginning to intermediate young guitarists. Under the direction of Stephen Krishnan, this group will develop exciting and approachable programs of music and focus on refining ensemble skills and expressivity. The ACGYC will perform locally in welcoming and fun settings.

Required Abilities

  • Sight reading in first position
  • Proper free stroke technique
  • Repertoire at or above the level of Brouwer Etude 1 and/or introductory studies by Sor or Carcassi

Rehearsals

  • Weekly rehearsals August to April
  • Rehearsals will be held Mondays from 7 to 8:20pm
  • Additional Rehearsals will occur in preparation for special events

Performances

  • 2-4 performances in Austin per year
  • For performances, members are required to wear concert black attire. This will include black slacks or skirt below the knee, black dress shoes, black socks and a black button-down shirt or blouse (estimated cost $100).

Tuition

  • The tuition for ACG Youth Camerata is $300/year, and includes all rehearsals, music, and complimentary admission for up to three guests at ticketed events in which the ensemble is featured.
  • Tuition is due by the second rehearsal. Partial payment plans and limited scholarships are available – please inquire.
  • If you and your family are interested in sponsoring a member,  funding a scholarship, or sponsoring an ensemble – please inquire.
